If there’s one thing that every mom knows, it’s decision fatigue (well, fatigue generally – but that’s another story).
And one of the biggest decisions moms are facing right now is whether we can quit quarantining our kids.
Can they go back to school? What about daycare? Are playdates okay? Grocery store trips? Lions and tigers and bears, oh my!
This gets even more complicated if you really need the break – but feel guilty about it. But instead of guilt, that need for a break can be your guide.
Here’s what no one tells you… you don’t have to make the hard decisions based only on “hard evidence.” Or simply on what’s acceptable to society.
(Truth is, we’ve made progress on women’s rights – but society still says we’re “bad moms” when we want to get away for a while. I’m not buying that. You don’t have to, either.)
You’re allowed to want a break. You’re allowed to be happy about the possibility of schools and daycares opening their doors.
In fact, it’s insanely healthy – and important.
In this episode, you’ll learn about:
- [02:35] – The unique way this year’s stress affects your nervous system – and your need for ‘me care’ to rebuild your resources.
- [03:43] – How to reframe the phrase “enjoy every minute” of motherhood, so that it gives you more ‘me time’ and less mom guilt
- [05:37] – My “Self-Care Tree” to help you connect with 3 sources of wisdom that’ll help you know when to quit quarantine (and any other tough call).
And remember – when you want to get away from it all for a while – it doesn’t mean you’re a “bad mom.” But listening to yourself will help you be the best one you can be.
